| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Under Suspicion |
Based on the John Wainwright novel, UNDER SUSPICION is the Hollywoodian remake of Claude Miller's "Garde ŕ Vue" (1981), directed by Stephen Hopkins in 2000.
The setting is San Juan, Puerto Rico. Henry Hearst, a wealthy lawyer, is asked to come to the local police station in order to clear up a few points of the deposition he made the day before after having discovered the dead body of a teenager in a park. During six hours, Henry Hearst will have to defend himself against the accusations of the police captain Victor Benezet who's persuaded that Henry Hearst is responsible for the recent rapes and murders of two young girls. The contradictions of Henry Hearst's testimony encourages the policeman to keep him in police custody for the night.
