| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Man of a Thousand Faces |
An actor, Lon Chaney, begins his career on stage. He and his wife have a baby, but fear that he's a deaf mute like Lon's parents. Luckily, he's not. Lon's wife, Clea tries to kill herself because she didn't want a child. She survives, but disappears from her family. After the fiasco Lon goes to L.A. to work in silent pictures. He brings to life such classics as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Phantom of the Opera. During the filming of his first talking picture Lon becomes ill. After one last fishing trip he passes away at his beloved cabin.
