| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about True Believer |
TRUE BELIEVER is a film directed by Joseph Ruben in 1989.
Eddie Dodd is a well-known NYC lawyer who used, in the sixties and the seventies, to accept the cases no other lawyers would take. Now, disillusioned, he's specialized in the drugs cases and is regularly pointing his finger at the abuses of power of the police.
When his new partner Roger Baron urges him to accept the case of Shu Kai Kim, a Korean boy sentenced to life eight years before who's just killed a neo-nazi militant in prison, Eddie Dodd is at first reluctant but he'll soon take an avid interest in the case as it seems that Shu isn't guilty of the first murder he was convicted for. Eddie is persuaded that his client has been framed and is innocent of that crime.
