Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Homicide (1991)
Bobby Gold is sensitive about being a Jewish cop on a mostly gentile police force. He gets involved in a criminal investigation that strikes close to home: an elderly Jewish woman is shot to death behind the counter in her store. When the woman's rich and religious family members express the belief that it was a hate crime perpetrated by anti-Semites, Bobby becomes committed to the case. If the family's theory were true, unraveling the circumstance of the woman's death would not only solve the murder but also help Bobby come to terms with his personal identity.
