| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Baby Boom |
Diane Keaton plays J.C., a high-level executive known as "the Tiger Lady," in this romantic comedy. While J.C.'s a hotshot at work, her existence away from the office (especially her love life) is humdrum. Then J.C. suddenly becomes the guardian of a cousin's little girl, which turns her life upside down. Deciding to leave life in the fast lane, JC turns her workload over to her smarmy trainee and moves with the baby to a bucolic little town in Vermont. Unexpected problems crop up, but thankfully, a handsome (and single) country doctor comes to their aid. Soon J.C. finds she's back in business, this time with a line of baby products. However, her former assistant-turned-nemesis tries to undermine her success.
