Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Stuart Little 2
Stuart Little 2 takes up where Stuart Little leaves off. Stuart (Michael J. Fox) is living with his adopted family, the Littles and he wants to be just like his human brother George (Jonathan Lipnicki), playing soccer, going to school, building models, etc. Stuart accidentally wrecks George's model plane, the plane is tossed in the trash but it makes a return to the story later on. Stuart is a bit depressed about life in general. He meets a girl while driving his model car home from school one day. She is a female sparrow-like bird (Melanie Griffith) who befriends him after a run in on the streets of NYC with a scary falcon/hawk (James Woods). Eventually it is revealed that the girl bird is an accomplice of the hawk and the two are con artists robbing the homes of those she gains the trust of. Stuart sets out to confront the hawk and is aided by the Little's nervous housecat, Snowbell (Nathan Lane).

Stuart somehow winds up on a garbage barge headed out to sea, the little sparrow and the hawk have stolen Mrs. Little's (Geena Davis) diamond ring, and Snowbell is in trouble on top of a tall building. The movie has a happy ending where Stuart finds George's wrecked plane in the garbage on the boat, fixes it up and flies to the rescue of the sparrow, Snowbell and the ring, defeating the hawk in an aerial showdown. This movie may be a little intense for real young kids, but a nice premise about friendship, honesty, trust and family. The actors lending their voices do an admirable job of bringing life to the computer animated animals.
