The Prince of Denmark temporarily moves to an American college to get away from his royal duties. While there, he meets a young woman and starts to fall in love with her. At first she is not interested, but she soon falls in love. When he is called back to Denmark he asks her to marry him. She accepts and she moves in with him. As she starts to live life as the future queen of Denmark, she questions her decision to marry him.
