| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Cop |
Based on James Ellroy's "Blood on the Moon", COP is a film written and directed by James B. Harris in 1988.
James Woods plays an L.A. policeman named Lloyd Hopkins, the hero of James Ellroy's trilogy. Lloyd considers his job to be a personal fight against the evil that crawls in the streets of Los Angeles. He's also neglecting his daughter and his wife who doesn't understand him anymore. The chief of the department thinks Lloyd is a good element but is not at all convinced that there are mass murderers hidden in Los Angeles as Lloyd tries to persuade him.
Events move faster when Lloyd's wife leaves home with their daughter and disappears in San Francisco. At the same moment, Lloyd has to investigate a violent murder and convince his boss that the one responsible for it is a serial killer who has already killed before.
