| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Open Water |
In “Open Water,” vacationers Susan and Daniel are left behind to tread water and bicker about whose fault this was, “I wanted the ski vacation,” she says.
Hours pass (supers show the time), as they encounter stingrays, thirst, exhaustion and eventually circling sharks. Things worsen as John is bitten and his blood begins attracting more sharks.

A married couple takes a break from everyday life and escapes for a weekend of hopeful relaxation. They are certified divers and they board a boat traveling out to sea. They seperate from the group and enjoy scuba diving and checking out the exotic species. When they surface, their boat has disappeared, because someone miscounted the people on board, and they are stranded in the middle of the ocean with no one in sight. With nothing to eat and sharks swimming around them and underneath them, their only hope is to survive the night and hope someone comes to rescue them.

Daniel and Susan are a young professional couple who take a vacation to a tropical island to get away from their busy lives for a little while. While there, they decide to go scuba diving. Due to a mix-up that occurs while one of the employees is counting the divers returning to the boat, Susan and Daniel are left behind in the ocean when the boat leaves. They wait for rescue while fighting the elements - most dangerous of which being the sharks that are surrounding them.
