| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Vision Quest |
Louden Swain (Modine) is a teenage guy, trying not to be another empty headed and directionless kid. In his senior year of high school, he becomes a serious high school wrestler facing the state of Washington's best wrestler named Shute (Jasper). His friends think he is crazy to try. His life changes when his dad (Cox) loses his job and they take in a free spirit boarder named Carla (Fiorentino). She is older, wiser, and tougher than Louden. He is on the verge of giving up. She catches Louden smelling her panties out of the laundry pile yet she still falls for him. His relationship with Carla inspires him to pursue his “Vision Quest”. He trains with renewed vigor; running, jumping rope, doing calisthenics, etc. He makes it to the championship match against Shute.
