| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Podium |
PODIUM is a French movie written and directed by Yann Moix in 2003.
Bernard Frédéric was a fan of the French singer Claude François who was electrocuted in 1978 at the age of 39. Bernard was considered the best Claude François look-alike until the day his wife Véro asked him to choose between the singer and her. Now, 5 years later, Bernard has become a bank clerk and lives a normal wife with Véro and their little boy.
Life will suddenly change for Bernard when his friend Couscous convinces him to take part in the next Night of the Look-Alikes organised by the French TV. Both have only 4 weeks to hire and train the four dancers who always accompanied the real Claude François. While Bernard has quit his job in order to present a few shows in little French towns before the big night, his wife Véro decides to leave him for good.
