| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Target |
Dennis Hopper plays Robert Nile, a businessman who likes to bet on the horses. He gets word that a violent criminal he helped put away is going to be getting out of prison soon. He hires a bodyguard, Christopher Lambert, to look out for him. He also has Lambert protect his daughter. The criminal's henchmen kidnap her, and Christopher Lambert has to rescue her. This is when Nile realizes these men are serious. He and his daughter and his bodyguard, who is wounded, flee to South Africa, where he spent his childhood, to hide out. Finally he gets the chance to make amends to his daughter, for being a bad dad.
