Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Shaun Of The Dead
The zombie movie genre gets spoofed by writer and lead character in "Shaun Of The Dead", Simon Pegg. Shaun is a stereo salesman who hangs out with his loser buddy Ed (Nick Frost) and they are the typical males; drinking beer at the local pub and playing video games. Though he has a dead end job, things arent so bad for Shaun as he has a pretty girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield). But he quickly ruins things with her when he forgets to make reservations for their third anniversary dinner. This pushes Liz to her limits and has had enough of Shauns slacker ways and dumps him. The next day, it seems as if London had turned into place for zombies. Still in love with Liz, Shaun and Ed hatch a plan to save Liz and Shaun's mom and get to their favorite pub and survive this attack on humanity.

Shaun (Pegg), 29, works at an electronics store and mostly hangs out with his even bigger loser buddy Ed (Frost), drinking beer at the pub or playing video games in their messy pad. Shaun's girlfriend Kate (Ashfield) breaks up with Shaun because he has no motivation and never keeps his promises, and he also has trouble getting along with his stepdad Philip, to whom his mother has been married 17 years.

While Shaun drinks himself silly trying to decide whether to forget Kate or win her back, a mysterious virus strikes London: people turn into zombies and create more zombies by biting healthy people. He decides to win her back. It takes Shaun and Ed a while to figure out what's going on around them, but Shaun whips into action to save his girlfriend and his mother, with mixed results. This 2004 British film is a spoof of zombie horror flicks.

Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a 29 year-old stereo salesman living in London. Shaun's idea of a romantic date with his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) includes brining his college buddy and roommate Ed (Nick Frost) to drink at the local pub. When Shaun forgets to make the reservations for their third anniversary dinner it puts Liz over the edge and she decides that since she does not seem to be a priority for Shaun, Shaun is no longer a priority for her and she dumps him. The following day strange things begin to be afoot all over London as people are mysteriously being bitten and turning into zombies. Shaun, still pining over Liz, springs into action to save the girl he loves. Before he can save Liz he is forced into action to save his Mom before his recently bitten step-dad makes her a zombie too. With the women he loves in tow, Shaun and company launch an all out war at their beloved pub to save themselves and all of humanity from the zombies.
