| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Raw Deal |
RAW DEAL is a movie directed by Anthony Mann in 1948.
With the help of his girl-friend Pat, Joe Sullivan escapes from prison. When their car breaks down, the two fugitives go to Ann, Joe's lawyer, kidnap the young woman and head west in Ann's automobile. Pat has made reservations on a boat leaving San Francisco for Panama. They just have to collect the $50,000 that Rick, Joe's partner, has promised to give them. But when a hitman tries to kill Joe in Crescent City, they understand they have been double-crossed by Rick.
Meanwhile, Ann tries to persuade Joe to surrender to the authorities and falls in love with his client. Soon, there is an open war going on between the two women as Joe is also attracted to Ann. As they finally arrive in San Francisco with the police still right behind them, Joe wants to square up with Rick before taking the boat.
