| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Teen Wolf |
Scott Howard (Michael J Fox) is an average high schooler – too average in his own opinion. He's tired of being too short, too ordinary and too bad at everything. Conveniently enough, it's full moon time and Scott soon finds out that he's a wolf. Suddenly, Scott is all hairy and intimidating. He can lead his basketball team to success, attract all the popular girls, stand up for himself and even buy some beer without even needing a fake id.
Scott's best friends – Susan and Rupert – have divergent opinions on whether his furry new self is a good thing. Eccentric Rupert is happy that Scott is finally popular and successful while tomboyish Susan (who's secretly in love with the teen wolf) thinks that Scott is selling himself short by trying to be something he isn't. Meanwhile, Scott is being harassed by evil Vice Principal Thorne and a mean-spirited bully-jock, who is jealous because his girlfriend likes Scott. Things start to get out of control and Scott's father (James Hampton) ends up revealing to Scott that he too is a werewolf.
Both daddy and Susan believe that Scott can be just as successful if he stays true to himself and tries not to turn into a wolf whenever he has a problem to deal with. Will Scott listen to his friends?
Watch out for these funny scenes:
* All the werewolfy basketball scenes – you know it wasn't Michael J Fox almost touching that hoop in midair unless they lowered it a few feet.
* Vice Principle Thorne peeing his pants when big bad papa wolf shows up and reminds him who's the man.
* Scott using his animal sense of smell to help Rupert look for his stash of pot.
* ‘Sexy' party games moderated by obnoxiously extroverted Rupert.
* The school dance sequence that starts off spoofing “Saturday Night Fever” and ends very badly with a bully having his shirt ripped to shreds by Scott.
* All the cheesy school drama rehearsals culminating in Scott loosing his virginity to the popular blonde girl.
