Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Master of Disguise
For centuries the Disguisey family have battled evil with their ability to become anyone or anything. Fabrizzio (Brolin) declares in 1979 he will not force his son into this difficult lifestyle. Currently, he is the owner of an Italian restaurant working with his wife and their table-waiting son, Pistachio (Carvey). His archenemy, Devlin Bowman (Spiner) now freed from a 20-year prison term in Palermo, Italy returns and abducts Mr. and Mrs. Disguisey. Inept Pistachio has no idea how to locate his parents and prays for a miracle. One arrives in the form of his long lost grandfather (Gould). Pistachio is told of the family destiny and quickly trained in the art of disguise. He interviews for an assistant and takes on able and attractive Jennifer (Esposito).

Meanwhile, Fabrizzio masquerades against his will as famous celebrities to steal priceless artifacts for Bowman, impersonating track star Michael Johnson, Governor Jessie Ventura, and Jessica Simpson. Each time Bowman breaks into maniacal laughter his mirth is cut short by his accidental outburst of flatulence. Pistachio uses a variety of disguises to track Bowman to his mansion. Bowman kidnaps Jennifer and uses her as a pitchwoman for his Internet auction of valuables, Black Mark Ebay. The three generations of Disguisey's are reunited and follow Bowman to a tropical island to try to end his career once and for all.
