| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Tin Star |
THE TIN STAR is a western directed by Anthony Mann (Winchester 73) in 1957.
Morg Hickman, a former sheriff, became a bounty hunter after the death of his wife. One day, he arrives in a small town whose sheriff is the young Ben Owens. Ben has been temporarily appointed sheriff after the murder of the former marshal. Impressed by Morg's self-control, Ben asks him to train him for the job. During a few days, Morg Hickman will follow Ben and teach him how to handle a gun, a street fight and his nerves. When the town's doctor is killed by the McGaffey brothers, Ben is unable to control the crowd's anger and must, alone, find the murderers if he wants them to have a fair trial.
