Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Young Doctors in Love
This hilarious film spoofing all things medical is about resident doctors in training at a hectic City Hospital. Dr. Stephanie Brody (Young) and Dr. Simon August (McKean) are in an on and off again love relationship. He is conceited and talented but is extremely squeamish when dealing with the sight of blood. She swoons often and is unable to stay angry with him for long. Sex, drugs, and brain surgery provide the fast moving jokes and sight gags.

Angelo Bonafetti (Elizondo) often turns up in a dress and goes by the name Angela to the shock of his wife. Dr. Prang (Coleman) is a dictatorial chief resident and a real sexist creep who has his way with the Christmas party Santa. Malamud Callahan (Richards) is a clumsy hit man trying to take out his mafia target in the hospital. Dr. Brody and Dr. August are able to resolve their issues and come together at the end. With dozens of recognizable faces cast from daytime television soap operas (General Hospital) this is a great comedy in the same outrageous vein as Airplane, Police Squad, and Blazing Saddles.
