| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about I've Been Waiting So Long |
I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG (Une vie à t'attendre) is a movie co-written and directed by the French director Thierry Klifa in 2003.
Twelve years ago, Jeanne (Nathalie Baye) left her lover Alex (Patrick Bruel) without a single word of explanation. For years, Alex has suffered from this breaking up before making the acquaintance of Claire, a woman he wants to marry. One day, Alex runs into Jeanne while attending the marriage of a friend.
Soon, Alex's life is turned upside down by Jeanne's come-back. Both ex-lovers spend a week-end in Italy and decide then to leave France in order to start a new life together. But things are not so easy as Alex must also take care of his depressed brother who doesn't want Alex to act like an overprotective mother. Furthermore, Claire hasn't given up Alex to Jeanne and she's fighting back. Now, Alex doesn't know anymore what to do. And Jeanne has just told him she's pregnant.
