Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Other People's Money
This movie stars Danny Devito as the arrogant, ruthless Laurence Garfield, a businessman trying to take over the "mom and pop" run New England Wire & Cable. The patriarch of New England Wire & Cable, Andrew Jorgenson (Gregory Peck) gets the help of his wifes daughter Kate Sullivan (Penelope Ann Miller) to get an injunction to stop Laurence from getting enough stock to take over the company. Kate does her best to work out a deal with the obnoxious Garfield. But he doesn't budge. Garfield soon falls in love with Kate and the rest of the movie is a struggle as Kate wants to save the company and Garfield wants her.
