| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Surviving Christmas |
Drew Latham just broke up with his longtime girlfriend and he is going to spend Christmas alone. Instead of that, he decides to go back to his hometown and have a nice family Christmas. The people now living in his childhood home are not his family; they are far from it. He offers the Valcos a large amount of money to become part of their family throughout Christmas Day. The Valcos are not a family who are interested in celebrating Christmas, and Latham forces them to get a tree, wear Christmas hats and go shopping for gifts. The Valcos begin to feel that any amount of money is not worth him being in their lives especially when their daughter (Christina Applegate) comes home with no intention of wanting another brother.
