| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Chase |
Jack Hammond (Sheen) has been given a life sentence for a crime that he did not commit. He manages to escape and then ends up kidnapping Natalie Voss (Swanson) at a grocery store with a candy bar. He steals her car and they take off towards Mexico. Hammond does not realize that his hostage is the daughter of the famous Dalton Voss, who is one of California's wealthiest men. When Dalton finds out that his daughter has been kidnapped, hundreds of cops begin to pursue Hammond and the chase is on. While the cops continue to pursue, Natalie begins to believe that Jack is not a dangerous criminal and maybe he is innocent. She also begins to realize that she is sick of being Daddy's little girl. The cat and mouse game ends at the Mexican border; Hammond is finally captured, but what Natalie does at the end will surprise you.
