| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Whistle Blower |
THE WHISTLE BLOWER is a British movie based on John Hale novel and directed by Simon Langton in 1986.
Dodgson, an agent working for the British Intelligence Service, has just been arrested and sent to jail. He was a Russian agent for years. Now, the C.I.A. wants the British to "clean the house". Robert Jones (Havers) works in British Intelligence and can't bear the atmosphere reigning in his department. As two of his colleagues, suspected of being Russian agents, die in a mysterious way, Robert decides to tell the journalist Bill Pickett what's actually going on in England.
Robert had also talked with his father Frank (Caine) about the strange deaths of his colleagues when he dies himself in a fall. Frank starts to raise embarrassing questions about the circumstances of his son's death and is soon under close surveillance of the British Intelligence. Nonetheless, he will finally understand that the C.I.A. and possibly even the British are responsible for Robert's death.
