| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Snow Dogs |
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays a Miami dentist who is suddenly summoned to a small town in Alaska for the reading of a will. It is the will of his mother. This is the moment that the mother who raised him tells him it IS possible, since he is actually adopted. He goes to Alaska to find out that his real mother lived there, along with the white man who was his father (Coburn), though they never actually lived together. The only thing she leaves him is her old cabin and most importantly her prized Alaskan sled dogs. Coburn tries to finagle him out of the dogs, without telling him who he is. A native girl, played by Sisqo, stops him from making a terribly unfair sale. Gooding tries to make a go of it, but is thwarted by the headstrong dogs, a scheming Thunder Jack (Coburn), and cliqueish townspeople. But everything works out when the town becomes the site of the Annual Arctic Challenge, an event for dogsled racing.
