Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Stuey
This movie stars Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti) in the title role of Stu Ungar. While sitting in bed in a hotel room Stu is awakened by what seems like a hit man ready to take him out. The man gives him a chance to speak and Stu tells the story of his life. The movies flashes back and forth through the present time and different points in his life. First we go back to the 60's and see how Stu became a master card player at the age of thirteen. How his father was angry that he blew his Bar Mitzvah money at the track and his relationship with mobtser Vincent (Michael Nouri) who took him under his wing.

Then it flashes to 73' and how Stu met his future wife Angela (Renee Faia) and his inablity to control his gambling. Stu is in debt for $100,000 and Vincent can't cover for him anymore. Vincent reaches his wits end and sends Stu to Las Vegas to play in a card tournament with a $100,000 prize. Angela is angry and breaks it of with him. Stu wins the card game and sends the money back to New York. Vincent dies and Stu goes back to New York where he rekindles his relationship with Angela. He then goes back to Las Vegas and wins three world series of poker championships. He has a daughter and things are going good until Stu gets sucked into the Vegas nightlife of booze, drugs, and prostitutes. Angela files for divorce and Stu bottoms out, finding himself in jail.
