Review Summary and Plot Commentary about King Solomon's Mines (1950)
KING SOLOMON'S MINES, based on H. Rider Haggard's novel, was directed by Compton Bennett and Andrew Marton in 1950.

Elizabeth Curtis (Kerr) asks the guide Allan Quartermain (Granger) to help her find her husband who's disappeared a few months earlier in the middle of a then still unknown part of Africa. Quartermain reluctantly accepts the mission for the money. The expedition soon leaves the civilization and braves the dangers of the savanna and its wild animals. Allan and Elizabeth will also have to confront cannibals before arriving to the diamond mine Elizabeth's husband was looking for. But, during the journey, Elizabeth has fallen in love with Allan and starts to fear the day she'll have to meet her husband.
