THE GRAND DUKES (Les Grands Ducs) is a French comedy co-written and directed by Patrice Leconte in 1996.
Three aging comedians manage to be hired by the producer Shapiron for his last stage play "Scoobidoo". The star of the play Carla Milo is not so happy with actors who are always improvising or, worst, who simply don't know their script. Things get out of hand when a ruined Shapiron asks Carla Milo to have an "accident" on stage so that he could claim a lot of cash from the insurance company. Carla says no and Shapiron will try to provoke an accident during the show but the actors always manage to improvise even in the middle of the worst situations.
