| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Human Factor |
THE HUMAN FACTOR, based on the Graham Greene novel, was produced and directed by Otto Preminger in 1979.
Maurice Castle (Williamson) and Arthur Davis (Jacobi) are working in the African section of the British secret services. As a Brit correspondent in Moscow reports to London that there is a leak in this section, Castle and Davis are secretly put under surveillance by their superiors. One of them, the sinister Dr. Percival, is convinced that Davis, a pound-foolish bachelor, is the one responsible for the leak. He obtains the authorization to eliminate Davis and manages to poison him. Nonetheless, secret informations keep reaching the Soviet Union.
