| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Mon Homme |
MON HOMME (My Man) is a French movie written and directed by Bertrand Blier in 1995. Anouk Grinberg won the Silver Bear at the 1996 Berlin International Film Festival for her performance.
Marie is a prostitute with a big heart. She treats her clients with love, respects them and likes her job. One day, she takes care of Jeannot, a bum who was lying in a trashy alley. She brings him to her apartment, nourishes him and falls for him; in a word, she thinks to have encountered the man of her life. Jeannot becomes "her man" and Marie gives him all the money she earns.
After a few weeks, Jeannot makes the acquaintance of Sanguine, a beautician, and tries to teach her how to become a high-class escort. The ex-bum has become a regular pimp who starts to have problems with the vice squad.
