| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Too Beautiful for You |
TOO BEAUTIFUL FOR YOU (Trop belle pour toi) is a movie written and directed by Bertrand Blier in 1989. This film won five French Academy awards in 1990 (Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Actress (Bouquet) and Editing).
Bernard Barthélémy is married to the beautiful Carole Bouquet. One day, he falls in love with his new secretary Josiane Balasko, an ordinary woman, neither pretty neither totally ugly. His friends don't understand why, with a perfect wife at home, Bernard is cheating on her with someone so common. Carole Bouquet is soon aware of this situation and also tries to understand Bernard's behaviour.
