| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Oxygen |
Maura Tierney (ER,Insomnia) stars as Madeline Foster, a NYC police officer who has masochistic tendencies that she is trying to hide from her husband Tim (Terry Kinney). The movie starts out with Harry (Adrien Brody) abducting Frances Hanna (Laila Robins) and burying her alive in a box somewhere out in the woods. Harry wants a million dollar ransom and Clark (James Naughton) goes to the police, disregarding Harry's order not to. Madeline gets assigned to the case and they set up a sting at the cemetery where Clark is supposed to deliver the million dollar ransom. Madeline follows Harry and a long car chase unsues into manhattan where they capture Harry. The police need to get the location of where Frances is before she dies. But none of the polices ploys are working. They send Madeline in to talk with Harry and he picks up on Madelines prediliction for pain. Harry exploites this as he toys with Madeline and the FBI.
