| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Jack Frost |
Jack Frost (Michael Keaton) is a struggling musician with a loving wife (Kelly Preston) and son (Joseph Cross). Jack isn't very good at keeping promises to his son and frequently disappoints his family by missing hockey games and get togethers. He tries to make it up to his family but gets called away again. As he is leaving he suddenly realises he is making a mistake and starts to drive home but he is killed in a road accident.
One year later Charlie is struggling with his dad's death. He builds a snowman and sits in his room playing his dad's harmonica. The harmonica turns out to be magical and it brings his dad back to life as the snowman (think Jack Frost the cartoon).
Charlie is at first frightened of his snowman/dad and hides from him and even tries to melt him with a hairdryer. But Jack Frost has snow-related skills that the young boy likes and they soon find common ground they never had when Jack was alive. They take on the local bullies in a snowball fight and escape in a fast sled ride. Jack also teaches Charlie to skate better and play better hockey.
