Review Summary and Plot Commentary about King Arthur
After several battles with enemy armies, the seven remaining knights of the round table, led by Arthur, want freedom from their royal duties. They must perform one more task to earn their freedom; they must help escort the bishop to Rome. In the process they fight a small battle with Merlin's rogue army.
They get the bishop safely to Rome where he informs them that their freedom must wait until after one last battle. They must travel to Britain to stave off the invading Saxon army and rescue an emporer and his son.
The knights fight off some of the Saxons and return to Rome with the rest of the Saxon army following.
The Romans flee, but the knights, joined by the remainder of Merlin's army, whom are also enemies of the Saxons, stay and fight.
Two of the knights are killed, but the Saxons are soundly defeated.
Arthur, the hero of both Rome and Britain, is declared king for his actions and for uniting Britain and making them and the Romans allies.

Arthur (Owen) is an elite soldier for the Roman army in Britain. He and his knights have completed their required service to the Empire and they are ready to retire and go home. It is the end of the empire and the Romans are leaving Britain and receding to mainland Europe. But the Emperor has one more job: go behind enemy lines and rescue a Roman family from invading Saxons.

Arthur and his men reluctantly accept the mission; travel north and find the family. They also rescue the dozens of slaves that the family has been illegally keeping and they lead these people south, to safety.

Arthur comes to an uneasy truce with the warring Woad tribe, including Guinevere (Knightley) whom they have been fighting for years. Neither group can defeat the Saxons so Arthur and his knights join forces with the Woads to save Britain.
