| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Goyokin |
GOYOKIN (Tengoku kara kita otoko-tachi) is a Japanese movie co-written and directed by Hideo Gosha in 1969.
The samurai Magobei left the Sabai clan three years ago and went to Edo (Tokyo). He disagreed with his brother-in-law Tatewaki, the chamberlain of the clan, who organized a shipwreck to steal a load of gold and murdered the whole population of the village of fishermen who helped him recover the load.
Now Tatewaki has sent a bunch of samurais to kill Magobei because he fears that Magobei would come back to the clan's castle if he'd be aware that Tatewaki is preparing another shipwreck. Magobei actually gets rid of the killers and heads to the coast in order, this time, to save the life of the naive population of the small village chosen by Tatewaki to assist him after the shipwreck.
