| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about She's So Lovely |
Eddie and Maureen are alcoholics who love each other despite their problems. Eddie comes and goes and Maureen never knows where he is for days at a time. Eddie has no money and mooches drinks and dinner and club money from his many friends. During one of Eddie's disappearances Maureen has some drinks with another man who tries to molest her. Eddie comes home later, sees that Maureen was beaten up and he then tries to kill the guy who did it. Eddie snaps mentally: he takes off his clothes and dances on a bench. He is taken away to a mental hospital for 10 years.
When Eddie is released he is still a little crazy. Eddie is released to a halfway house and he thinks its only been a few months since he left Maureen. Eddie doesn't know that she is now married with kids. He tracks down Maureen, has dinner at her new house but then fights with her new husband to get her back.
