| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Below Utopia |
Daniel Beckett (Justin Theroux) brings his girlfriend Susanne (Alyssa Milano) to meet his parents on Thanksgiving. It's here that Justin's father wants to hand over the family business to him but Justin doesn't want it, telling his father he just isn't cut out for it. Susanne interupts the conversation and she and Justin then go downstairs and have sex in the basement. While doing so, there is a home invasion. Jim (Ice-T), Tiny (Tiny Lister), and Cole (Richard Danielson) kill off Justin's family and steal major works of art from the home.
Justin and Susanne hide in vents and in dark nooks as Jim and tiny come down stairs looking for more stuff to steal. There is conflict between the three thugs as Cole wants to leave but Jim insists on looking through the whole house for more stuff to steal. As Justin and Susanne attempt to escape from the basement, Cole comes back into the house and hears them. Cole goes into the basement and finds Susanne but Justin attacks him from behind and kills him. Justin dumps Cole's body at the foot of the stairs as they make a break for the upstairs. Jim and Tiny find the body and realize there is someone else in the house.
