| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Outside Providence |
After a run in with the law, Timothy Dunphy (Shawn Hatosy) gets sent to a prep school by his frustrated dad (Alec Baldwin) to get his act together.
Tim must graduate, or he will have to go to jail.
While attending the school, he starts hanging out with people similar to his friends back home so he still often finds trouble with the school's faculty.
One day during lunch he first meets Jane (Amy Smart) and the two immediately fall. One of Tim's friends gets jealous because he also has feelings for Jane so he gets the two of them in trouble.
Jane is kicked out of school and it seems like she will not be able to get into the college of her dreams. Tim must convince the college to still accept Jane while trying to graduate himself.
A coming-of-age comedy with a lot of drug use.
