Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Stepfather
The Stepfather stars Terry O'Quinn as Jerry Blake, an insurance/real estate salesman who likes to move in with single mothers with children. After killing the last family he was with, Blake moves in with Susan Maine. But there is strife as Susan's daughter Stephanie (Jill Schoelen) doesn't like Jerry at all. Meanwhile, the brother of the woman Jerry last killed, Jim Ogilvie (Stephen Shellen) is out to find Jerry by asking a newspaper reporter to print his picture in the local paper. The reporter can't get the story printed with the picture and Jim heads out on his own. At this point Jerry starts getting pictures of the way he looked in the past. He starts to freak out, wondering how someone caught on to him. Jim starts getting closer and closer to finding Jerry when he gets some marriage liscense information. Towards the end, Jerry has a slip of the tongue as Susan finds out he hasn't been at work for the last few days. The mystery unravels as Susan, Stephanie, and Jim all meet in a bloody ending with Jerry.
