| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Hot Shots: Part Deux |
This movie is part two of Hot Shots!, a movie that spoofs action flicks and war movies. Charlie Sheen returns as Topper Harley, a top-notch war hero. His help is needed by the blundering president, played by Lloyd Bridges. Some hostages have been taken in Iraq. Two different teams have men have gone in to rescue them and both have been captured. It is Topper's job with the help of a CIA agent and three other soldiers to go in and rescue the hostages plus all of the soldiers. Charlie lands between Iraq and a hard place and plots to rescue the men. He meets up with his former lover played by Valeria Golino, whose husband is among the captives. Topper did not know she was married, but does the honorable thing and will make sure her husband is saved. But his incompetent band of thugs must make it past an equally incompetent army of Iraqian soldiers led by an actor who looks remarkably like Saddam Hussein.
