| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about One Crazy Summer |
After Hoops (Cusack) learns Cassandra (Moore), a girl he likes is in danger of losing her house to an unscrupulous real-estate developer, he calls on his friends to help her keep the house.
Because they don't have much money, the gang tries to help Cassandra start her musical career by having a concert, which they hope will raise enough money to save her home.
Although a good number came to the show, they didn't come close to raising enough money.
Everything looks like it will go according to planned for the developer, until his father tells him if he does not win the annual sail boat race he will completely cut him off, thus crushing his dreams.
Knowing this, Hoops gets everybody together to build a boat to try to beat the bumbling developer. Unfortunately, Hoops is deeply terrified of water.
