Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Fog Over Frisco
Fog over Frisco is a Hitchcockian mytery starring Bette Davis as Arlene Bradford, a rich socialite and stepdaughter of banking tycoon Everett Bradford. While at the club Bello with her fiance Spencer Carlton (Lyle Talbot) and her sister Val (Margaret Lindsay), Arlene gets asked for her keys to move her car. She gives the man her keys and a hides a package behind the dashboard. When Arlene gtes home she sees that its hundred's of thousands of dollars in stocks and bonds. While at home she gets a mysterious phone call from a man in a darkened telephone booth. Arlene then goes to see Spencer, who works for her father banking corporation, to launder the stocks for her and then goes to visit Jake Bellow. Arlene tells Jake she doesn't want to do anymore underhanded deals then leaves the club and goes home. Her sister Val hears Arlenes car and goes downstairs but only finds a cab leaving. She gets nervous and eventually goes to the police in an effort to find her sister. When she gets back she gets a telegram from her sister telling her to meet her down by the docks. At this point Val is abducted and the movie shifts into a "who done it?" mystery on who killed Arlene and a rush to save Val.
