| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Memories Of Me |
Memories Of Me stars Billy Crystal as Abbie Polin, A heart surgeon in New York City. While performing surgery on a patient Abbie has a heart attack. He recovers quickly and goes home with his girlfriend Lisa (JoBeth Williams). At home with her, Abbie plays some old home movies and this causes Lisa to ask about his father. Abbie doesn't want to talk about his father because of their strained relationship but he eventually flies out to Los Angeles to visit Abe (Alan King), the self professed king of the movie extras. After spending some time with his father Abbie calls Lisa and tells her everything is fine, but it wasn't. Lisa then flies out from New York to stay with Abbie and Abe. Eventually, Abbie and Abe have a big argument, nearly coming to blows because Abbie was upset with Abe for not being there for him when he was young. But before leaving to go back to New York Abbie and Abe work things out while eating some Mexican food. Abbie then gets Abe to take a physical where they find out he has an aneurysm in a part of the brain that they can't operate on. Abbie opts to stay with his father in Los Angeles hoping to get him a speaking role in a movie before his time is up.
