Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Billy Rose's Jumbo
Billy Rose's Jumbo is the movie based on the Rodgers and Hart musical about the Wonder Circus. The Wonder Circus is owned by Pop Wonder (Jimmy Durante) and his daughter Kitty (Doris Day). The main attraction of the Wonder Circus is the talented dancing elephant, Jumbo.

A new tightrope walker, Sam, joins the circus and immediately catches the single Kitty's eye and heart. The movie is filled with music and dance and romance. A family-friendly movie, all ages can enjoy. Real circus performers and Doris Day's own stunts lend a real authentic feel to the film. Almost like being at a real circus! The tension comes from the beloved father-daughter pair from keeping the Wonder Circus from foreclosure. They are way behind on paying their bills and the bill collectors are hounding them to pay up or else!
