Review Summary and Plot Commentary about A Christmas Carol: The Musical (2004)
This is one of the newest releases of the classic, the musical version with Kelsey Grammer filmed in 2004 in Hungary. Kelsey Grammer plays Scrooge, not very convincingly, in my opinion, but hey, it's a musical and is not supposed to be taken seriously. The music is good, and so are the special effects. Jane Krakowski plays the Ghost of Christmas Past who is also a Streetlamp Lighter, Jesse L. Martin is the Ghost of Christmas Present / Ticket Seller, and Geraldine Chaplin is Ghost of Christmas Future / Blind Beggarwoman (a pretty scary one). Jason Alexander is noticeable as Jacob Marley, and his song is one of the best. Overall, it is a decent production, but if you are not a big fan of musicals you probably will not like it.
