DON'T MOVE (Non ti muovere) is an Italian movie written and directed by Sergio Castellitto in 2004. Cruz and Castellitto earned the Italian Academy awards in the Best Actor and Best Actress categories for their performance.
When his daughter is brought to the hospital after a motorcycle accident and as she undergoes a surgical operation in the next room, Dr. Timoteo remembers events of his past. Fifteen years before, then happily married to Elsa, Timoteo, a renowned surgeon, meets Italia, a young house cleaner, when he has a breakdown on a deserted highway. A few hours later, while intoxicated, he violently rapes the young woman and comes back home. The following day, Timoteo sees Italia again and apologizes in front of the young woman.
During a few months, Timoteo and Italia will live a passionate love story but Timoteo can't take the decision to leave his wife. At the same time, Italia and Elsa announce him that they are both pregnant. While Italia decides to abort in order to keep her lover, Timoteo doesn't know anymore what to do with his life. He decides to drive with Italia to her hometown but the young woman will suffer there an internal haemorrhage due to the unhealthy sanitary conditions during her abortion.
