| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Living Out Loud |
Judith is a middle-aged woman going through a divorce in New York City. She ended her own medical career for her husband's, and had lived as a rich housewife. Now she finds herself living alone in an apartment on the other side of town and working as a nurse. Her husband didn't want to have children with her, and her friends were his friends. Her life lacks meaning, companionship, and happiness.
One day Judith meets Pat, the new elevator operator at her apartment, and they become friends. Pat, also divorced, is mourning the death of his daughter, and trying to solve his gambling debts. Can these two individuals turn each other's life around and find personal and professional success?
