OWNING MAHOWNY is a British-Canadian movie directed by Richard Kwietniowski in 2002.
Dan Mahowny works as an executive in a Toronto bank. He uses to place bets at the racetracks but, one day, he doesn't have the cash to pay the $10,000 he owes to his bookmaker. He decides to open a faked account in his own bank, pays his debt, and flies to Atlantic City in order to win back the money. During the next months, Dan Mahowny will embezzle more than $9 millions in order to satisfy his gambling obsession. Every weekend, he'll fly to Vegas or Atlantic City and lose huge sums of money in the casinos.
