| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Grey Fox |
Pinkerton detectives chased Bill Miner, the Gentleman Bandit, who specialized in holding up stagecoaches, for years. This movie begins when he's an old man, probably somewhere in his late 60s or early 70s, just being released after 33 years in San Quentin. For a time, Miner tries to settle down, living with his sister in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. But he hates oyster shucking and so he returns to the life of crime, teaching himself to rob trains (which weren't even common at the time he went away). Having made one really great haul, he heads for British Columbia to lay low for a while. He's happy in a small town there, especially enjoying the romance he strikes up with a feisty female photographer. But Pinkerton picks up his scent once more....
