| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about Corrina, Corrina |
Advertising exec Manny Singer (Ray Liotta) has just experienced the loss of his wife. His daughter, Molly (Tina Majorino) is not taking it well at all. She has become very withdrawn and refuses to speak.
Manny decides that he is going to need some help so he begins interviewing for a new housekeeper/nanny. After a series of comically scary interviews, he is ready to give up. Enter Corrina Washington (Whoppi Goldberg) who is a well educated African American lady looking for employment due to the recent departure of her husband. The interview doesn't turn out very well and she is sent on her way. That is until she meets Molly on her way out. Molly shows a positive response to Corrina so she is called back and hired on.
As time goes by she brings Molly out of her shell and helps Manny cope with the loss of his wife. She also helps Manny get over his writer's block and during which time they discover that they actually have many things in common. Eventually it grows into more even though it's not the norm of the day. There are many comic instances and some singing as well as dancing.
