| Review Summary and Plot Commentary about The Dark Corner |
THE DARK CORNER is a Fox production directed by Henry Hathaway in 1946.
Three years ago, Bradford Galt, a private detective, was framed for a murder by his business partner Anthony Jardine. After having spent two years in prison, Galt came to NYC in order to start a new life. He's still in the business and is closely watched by Lt Frank Reeves.
One day, Galt notices that he's followed by a man, Fred Foss, who tells him that he's been hired by Jardine to tail the detective. This is not true at all. Foss works in fact for the wealthy Hardy Cathcart whose young wife is in love with Jardine. Cathcart has imagined a subtle plan in order to kill Jardine and frame Galt for this murder.
After Jardine's corpse is found in Galt's apartment, the detective, helped by his secretary Kathleen, must find a way not to be arrested by the police before he could figure out who is the real killer.
